Yes, note I changed the wording to use yours... you must have read that quick! I guess my main point is that the group was formed BECAUSE of folks who don't want evolution taught. I agree that we'd probably be better off without them, but I'm not up on what 'creationsists" are trying to teach in public science classes. To be honest I'd probably come down on their side if you put the two together, from the little I know. Don't you agree that teaching creationism (our understanding of it) in a science class is MORE false than evolution as far as science goes? <Seems to me pushing secular humanism and atheism is clearly a part of the NCSE's agenda. > So? There are groups pushing the other side no? In fact, doesn't this group exist BECAUSE of that? Isn't it a natural outgrowth? More to the point, what sway do they have with publishers and text books?? Besides, are you sure about the "atheist" part... that doesn't seem to be a main thrust.. although it certainly makes sense they would be the most outraged at creationsim being taught. Personally, I think being against "intelligent design" (the concept) makes little sense, but sadly, the company the concept keeps has gotten it off to a bad start. :) I guess I'm just saying these groups exist.. there are all sorts of strange wacky groups pushing all sorts of things. It doesn't mean there is some broad "agenda" in the country to push false science, right? I mean there must be a LOT more to it if that were the case than one of these groups. DAK
