NOR do I have the slightest idea WHAT those 'additions' were at all - since you haven't told us - I guess I don't have any opinion about that claim of a 'ban' at all.) But --- if you truly do have relevant facts, Hugh, (complete with appropriate links to their sources) to suggest for inclusion, facts that are missing from the encyclopedia article right now, then you should go right ahead and submit your additions/corrections regardless of whatever might have happened on some completely different topic on some completely different day in the past.
