Our government's "the ends justify the means" mentality.

Don't worry though, I am sure the people approving and doing the torture were all God fearing people who go to church every week. "Our" God fearing people were doing it to protect us from those other God fearing people.

If someone can actually talk to God, please ask him if he will get "his people" out of here so the rest of us can live in peace.

I remember the interview of a member of the group that convened with Bush and Cheney after 9/11. Cheney asked when they would be ready to attack Iraq. This guy said initial evidence suggested that it was Afghanistan, not Iraq, who was responsible for the deed. Cheney's response was, essentially, "who cares?".
