The nature of truth is that it is not verifiable. It cannot be verified as one would need a greater (more acceptable) truth to verify it, indicating that it was not the complete truth, and so on. Truths therefore should be self evident, or are not truths. If one persists that proof is needed as in mathematical analogs, etc.. all one is saying is that truth is hard to understand, or needs an analog which is a pathway of simple stepwise certainty, whilst to the perfect mind it is at once clear.

That something should be needed to be a touchstone of truth is of course a paradox, as how is one to believe that? And why is it more secure and believable than a truth?

Truth just is. We learn not to accept it, as it is inconvenient. The philosophies that allow us to do this are either relativistic socialism and socializing relativism.

The only things verifiable in our pantheon are the mythologies that are the underpinnings of our hypocrisy. Hence the pre-Copernican solar system.
