I could sum his point up like this: "They started it, and we are the good guys, how dare Obama say anything bad about what we did?" Here is the controversy in a nutshell. We have laws against torture. We have agreed to International prohibitions against torture. Torture has been committed on our behalf after 911. What we have to do from here on is debatable. Obama is personally against torture but he has no stomach to go after people responsible for allowing torture to have taken place over the last 4 or 5 years. He is sitting between a rock and the hard place. However, the intellectually weak Bill Kristol is still trying to argue that torture works. He argues it helped to save lives. He is in effect arguing that torture is okay if we do it. What a weak intellectual argument.
