Many of the miners shown in that report appear to have undergone short-covering, not just NGD.

There's also a trend toward backwardation. If it takes place, well, you know.....

Chinese demand seems to driving things for the moment.

Some report I've seen indicate China can produce 1,300 tons p/a. This seems exaggerated. Still, if the bulk of Chinese production goes to reserves, it seems uncharacteristically non-pragmatic for it can fill its coffers without the necessity of paying market prices.

I'm sure it's the merger... in which case they DONT cover... just deliver Western. One could look at totals, back out ratio and know for sure. OTOH, I'm glad I piled in bigger down there... haven't been paying attn, nice to see it back up around $2!
