>>Hitchens believes water boarding is torture. Yet he participated in it. Do you honestly believe a person would willingly subject themselves to "torture"? <<

First, I don't believe that questioning your logic is rude. I wasn't calling you stupid or anything like that. I was merely pointing out that your arguments were flimsy. You may choose to take that personally, but it's your choice.

Second, you're missing an important point. Hitchens did not believe that waterboarding was torture before he had it done to himself. Quite the opposite. I stated that clearly. So your statements with respect to subjecting himself willingly to torture aren't a logical refutation of the argument I presented.

I brought up Hitchens because, so far, he is the only defender of waterboarding I have heard of who had the fortitude to put his money where his mouth was and subject himself to it in order to prove a point.

I have no special level of respect for Christopher HItchens. But he is, at least, an honorable enough man to have admitted, after going through the ordeal, that he had been wrong.
