It is reassuring when a man of Robert Kaplan's import addresses the significance of geography to world order. Our military understands and always considers the importance of all aspects of geography to their operations. And they do it at every level of command - top to bottom. Our civilian leadership usually ignores geography until it helps create a natural disaster.
