That's true, but that picture will change over time. The numbers of Americans with INTENT is huge. In the next 2-3 years almost all major car manufacturers will have affordable electric or hybrid cars available for sale. 5-10 years after that, the market penetration of those vehicles will have skyrocketed. So I believe we are about to see intent change to facts on the ground. But right now, the numbers are low, because affordable options aren't on the market. That will change when those options are presented to people. I myself am holding out for a pure electric vehicle that can go 60 miles or more on a charge and go highway speeds, all for $40K or less. I'm really eyeing that Model S, but it's slightly out of my price range. Anyway, I'll get my wish in a couple years. Then I will post that as evidence of my intent become fact when it happens. Perhaps, I'll have more credibility with you then. BTW, I already have the cash in the bank waiting for that purchase. It drives my wife nuts that I won't just go buy a car now, but I am specifically waiting to get what I want. What does that say about my desire for a plain old ICE car?

I believe EVs will replace ICEs, just like VOIP continues to replace POTS.
