I share your surprise wrt OSX... my only thought about last week is that possibly people think the rig laydowns and new orders falling off cliffs is overdone and will have to reverse. And of course that will happen, but I can't quite accept that the worst is truly over in the patch yet.

But as happens so many times, perhaps the OSX is telling us something we find surprising, and in my case, not quite willing to believe just yet... OSX usually leads when the energy sector starts to recover... but I've been way wrong in this sector before despite working in it -- maybe I'm blinded by the forest and can't see the trees from down here in the trenches (if I may mix a metaphor or two).

Much, much cheaper IMVHO. We are settling down economically, not bouncing up. Tell it to the market though. Window dressing week once again. Early May will be a nice time go short on some expensive names and be ready to pick up nice hard assets or commodities on the cheap as a hedge for the forthcoming inflation from the trillions we have printed.
