In the meantime, I think I'll consider the Ford Escape Hybrid ... I'm trying to hold off... by the fall and within the next two years there will be a lot more options. If anyone has any money by that time. My driver side electric window just froze in the down position at a drive up window. Grrrr. Good thing it's not rainy season.

Hat tip to mph as posted on another thread.... Obama's supposed competence is in the eye of the beholder and in light of what the beholder might wish to have accomplished. Obama's core competency is convincing fools that he is what the country needs. If turning the USA into a third world country is your goal, then you might be an Obama lover. If turning our government into a third world junta that prosecutes the prior administration denizens for policy differences, you must be an Obamaton. If you think it's cool as hell to go all over Europe, Latin America, the Middle East and foreign soil in general, kicking the sh*t out of the USA but extolling your own virtues or lack of culpability for the supposed evils of your own country, then you are an Obamanation. If you think terrorists are just "man made disasters" and that you have more to fear from returning veterans than Islamic terrorists, then you are as competent in self-delusion as Obama is in proselytizing you. If you believe that we can spend our way to prosperity and that the numbers Obama throws around have any validity, you have been Obama-notized. If you think that dictators of oppressed countries are vulnerable to charm offensives and chit chat by a Harvard educated metrosexual, then Obama has a bridge to sell you, (if you apply for the right stimulus funds.) If you're tired of America as a beacon of democracy and capitalism, then you have been successfully co-opted by the most anti-American President in U.S. history. If you think Obama should be King of the World, then you are on track to being his next campaign manager.
