Then you're an idiot for arguing that self-defense issues aren't relevant or significant in gun ownership.

I didn't argue that they weren't relevant, of course they are to the discussion by the pro-gun folks. I did argue that significance of gun ownership saving someones life is insignificant relative to the accidental and intentional killing done by guns. My guess would be much more than 100 to 1.
