>> So what do you make of John McCain then?

McCain is not impartial on this subject.

>> A broad wide ranging group think he did

But surely you wouldn't suggest that the American People have the facts on this subject! The media has been totally one-sided as usual, and the People have no idea that Congress was briefed throughout the process, that Bush had appropriate legal support for his position, and frankly, many have very short memories.

Whether or not you understand it (I find you to be rather dense, as are many nutjob liberals), what is appropriate is determined in part by the circumstances. It was with FDR, with Wilson, with Lincoln, and with other presidents. In times of war a president has to be more aggressive.

And this isn't rough interrogation of American citizens. These were people whom were known to have killed or been complicit in the deaths of 3,000 Americans. Rough treatment of such individuals is totally appropriate, called for, and frankly, it was a heroic act on Bush's part. Contrast that with our current president who has apologized to every leader the world around (for what, we don't know) and who has kissed the asses of some bitter enemies. And he's not through yet.

"So what do you make of John McCain then?"

Not much until he picked Palin for a running mate. That was genius. Not enough to stem the tied of votes in his favor over the long run though.

In general he is welcome to his opinion, as are you and I.
