That framing is very important - including both the header and the number of jacks required on each side.

Suggest calling or better - visiting your local building construction department and get your state code for garage door framing.

Usually around here, a visit between 8-9 AM is best.

If it seems too complicated for a wide span ask them for the name of an engineer who can help you with a flitch plate header.
That is a simple and inexpensive solution.
