Well, Specter is no great loss to the R's. And on the bright side of things, with the Dems completely in control of the Senate and the House, when things start to go totally wrong, it will be evident that the Dems were in charge and "made it happen."

The only reason that Specter can say that the Repubs have gone "far to the right" is that the entire Dem Party has gone FAR to the Left....nearing Socialist/Marxist.

Perhaps Specter can tell everyone just when it was that a Socialist/Marxist/Communist country was successful.

If the GOP will get real about their status among the conservatives in this country, they will look upon Spector's move as the first of "clean sweep" of so-called republicans and so-called conservatives in the congressional lineup. We can only hope.....

Sen. Arlen Specter

Now, with the addition of Franken, they can be no more cries of "Republican obstructionism." It won't change the outcome of any voting, but the perception will change. Up to now it has been

"Republicans defect to get Obama's plan though."

Now it will be:

"Democrats can't hold their Senators to pass Obama's legislation."

Specter To Switch Parties

The big news of the day. Can't say anyone should be surprised. I say good riddance, we didn't like your company, anyway.

Specter To Switch Parties

Could it be that the REAL reason Sen. Specter is choosing to switch parties is because he's tired of paying income taxes?

:-(
