Very true. Moderate Republicans are being ostracized by the increasingly radical right wing. The GOP is imploding - deservedly so - but will probably recover some day. Look how many were talking about the death of the Democratic party after the 2004 elections...

Wonder how long before moderate Republicans will smarten up and regain control of their party. Probably take at least one more ass-whooping election for them to get the message.

apparently many people don't realize that specter was ALWAYS a democrat, despite his BULLSHIT about being a republican.

when specter's principal area was philly, he was a democrat but couldn't get nominated for DA by his democrat "friends".

so he ran as a democrat but on the republican ticket.

it wasn't until after he was elected that he then switched to the republican party, on whose ticket he had won.

en.wikipedia.org.

specter is probably one of the most opportunistic PHONIES that ever ran for political office.

p.s. and why did he switch??? simply because he saw the handwriting on the wall and knew he was going to get his ass kicked in the primaries. both parties have had people who switched sides.

but how many have had a DOUBLE-DIPPER like specter?

so much for party loyalty, huh?
