I hear $800 thousand is going toward the repaving of a backup runway at John Murtha Airport. And that airport sees like three flights a day.

You call that stimulus, I call that pork.

> All that time the Republicans were in charge, with a growing economy, why didn't they care about pork then?

They're paying the political price, aren't they? The infamous "bridge to nowhere" was a favorite rallying point for Democrats who were running against the "culture of corruption."

Now the Democrats are running up spending faster than Bush and Cheney could. Back then the excuse was the war on terrorism. Now the excuse is economic stimulus. Ask not what you can do for your country, ask what your country can do for you.

> There's a reason the party is so unpopular, that people are abandoning it like rats fleeing a sinking ship...

The Democrats will have their day of reckoning as well. It will all begin once the Baby Boomers retire starting next year.
