<<The "think different" add has Steve Jobs written all over. It does not speak to corporate america, or even average Joe user. It speaks to "The World as Steve would like it to be"(TM).>>

Agree entirely. It reeks of Steve Jobs. Just what we need in this country is the further promotion of idea that there is something superior in setting yourself apart from others. Should you not be willing to do this, then you really have no chance to change the world, you never have and you never will. In that vein, how about this for a unique and rebellious idea. Let's form companies that would be interested in cloning MacIntosh computers! Or even better yet, all this time we been hosted to "Window 95 = MacIntosh 84" highlighting what happened when Bill Gates decided to follow the status quo of companies moving over to GUI's!

If you don't like the ads "think different" because you think they are too dumb, then you should never say the word PC again. After all that was a dumb ad campaign by IBM to get the public using the term "pc" for personal computer.

Also, a long time ago, IBM had a one of the biggest ad campaings ever simply called "think" with great success - designed only for corporate america - every MIS department had the signs and they loved it. This is almost a direct clone of that except it has more snazz.

There are a zillion examples from almost every industry where a "warm and fuzzy" slogan worked great. I am sure you must have some better idea since you are critical. What is it?

I don't know where it is going to end but market is now down 300+ points and apple is up.

Very interesting interview this weekend where Steve B.(Gates 2nd in command) was on a "meet the press" type show and was asked if he thought Microsoft should be allowed to take something like Quicken and bundle it into the operating system thereby killing all accounting software competition. Steve said "I'm not a lawyer but yeah, why not?". I sure hope DOJ taped that one.
