Hi Suma. You're so compassionate and kind that you're continually hurt by the fear, anger and hatred that runs so deeply in many of us. I'd guess you believe in the best of all of us, if only we were given a chance. I'm much less hopeful. I think that many people, no matter how many opportunities they get, are never going to amount to much in terms of becoming the kinds of people I'd admire. So I just wait for reality to slap the idiots into some semblance of rationality for whatever short period of time they can hold onto it. And I wait for the kind of leadership that comes around once every generation or two, the kind of leadership that made me so committed to the election of Obama, the kind of leadership that can move civilization forward from the dark side that Bush was speaking to, and I hope that he can provide it. I hold onto those long shot hopes but in the meantime I just live my life surrounded by family and friends because I think that in the grand scheme of things none of it means much. On that happy ending note, Suma, I think that you're a shining light treasure. g. Ed
