"I am staying a Republican" that was until he knew his life as a republican senator was over. He gambled thinking it wouldn't hurt him to vote for stimulus package. He was wrong!

He gambled that flipping against union card check would balance off the vote for the stimulus package.. He was wrong!

His change of party doesn't hurt republicans since the way he votes on issues will not change. He is liberal. Eighty years old and he still will not give up the seat to new blood. typical of senators and representatives in congress.

Reid says he will respect his years in senate for his position in democrat party.. i expect this will upset other democrats and those who were thinking of running for office in pa.
