Specter left the party because he could not win as a Republican. That's because he was the only Republican that voted for the porkulus bill. The bill would never have passed if he did not vote for it, so he would never have won the election as a Republican.

Yeah the only Reps left are the nut jobs, so he would lose the primary. He'll win the general. Take it to the bank.
