I got news for you. They have been averaging marks in Canada since 1960. The Bell Curve. The did away with the departmental finals way back in the late 1960's. Later they did away with grade 13. Test scores have since been steadily drifting down. Socialists fail to realize that society is made up of individuals and the society that does not optimize the individuals experience within it, fails to satisfy everyone, equally.

People don't believe me when I tell them that Canada is a nation of genetically selected stupid people. We have gathered people to this nation who could work in fields, mines, paddle canoes, and work in factories. This is who we allowed to immigrate here. We did not set out to find mathematicians, intellectuals, scientists or engineers. We called for hunkies who could man a shovel. So that is what got genetically. Now we reward people with ease where they can hold a minimalist government job which requires no great thought, independence, ambition or vision. Only social smarm, and going along with what the group leader says. We award marks out of 'fairness' to those who can think less well. We give student loans to people in the right political spectrum, to minorities, and the poor. We ignore people who are good thinkers. Our bursaries to good students are anemic. Our universities are not top notch. They are run by civil servants, not professors.

Canada has the least number of great mathematicians, authors, nobel prize winners, artists, or award winning scientists of any comparable nation.

Small wonder, really.
