am not that sure. Esp with internet and millionaire bloomberg types out there, a new movement/party may vie for second party status. Think Whigs and how Reps replaced them.
It could be a top down phenomena or bottom up or a bit of both. Obama can hold 60-65% for awhile but eventually there will be another set of views competing. I just dont see how the morons who run the rep party can compete as long as they owe their souls not to the libertarians but to the religious right. A centrist party with a libertarian bent is what is needed. Not a party who says they are that but lives with litmus tests based on religious right.

I'm not so sure. They may end up like the isolated Japanese hold outs in WWII that never got the word the war was lost. Just hiding in their extreme conservative areas (caves), clown losers.
