Madharry, okay, suppose we agree that Mr. Buffett is the greatest capital allocator. Isn't that is what is required for a company like Berkshire - a great allocator? If Mr. Gates is on the board, guiding the company but not making capital allocations, then who will make those allocations when Mr. Buffett leaves? We don't know. Which makes it difficult for both the long and the short holder. For the short, because if the new person says he can't really allocate incoming billions like Buffett so he will change the allocations to include making a dividend and/or making BRKA stock buy backs-- then that might signal a buy signal that the stock is undervalued.
