<<That refutation seems now to have happened>. And how! And my kudos to Joseph Stiglitz getting a nobel prize in economics with his refutation of "Efficient Market Theory".
i am glad to see Paul Samuelson had the humility to warn that his theory could be" “subject to refutation by observable facts”."

Unfortunately the DOGMATIST of efficient market theory formed at the University of Chicago.
i have posts back to 10 years MOCKING the efficient market teory , btw.
Proves once again Economics is NOT an exact science, not even really remotely so.

An aside: i have heard so much virtual to plain hate posts of John Keynes, but they not based on the fact Keynes himself was NOT rigid, he could adapt and change, as he did when he was the head of finance for Britain during WWII.(Those that attack Keynes with fanatic idealogic based attacks have a deep right wing agenda. )
A here will say kind word for Milton Friedman, who i was, without knowing him, dislikely intensely him for his association with Pinochet.
i got to se a 2 hour documentary whith Milton Friedman,a twinkling gnome of a man, and i could see clearly that for him economics theory must be judged on what creates the greatest amount of good for the most amount of people.

That he was just another Economist coming to the plate and attempt that dream.(he in know way himself a fascist Pinochet)

At that time Honk Kong was his pride a joy.

He saw it a possible proof of his hope.

i came to see in the intense 2 hours program with Friedman was NOT an idealog, just a theorist hoping his theories would work.
But that show was over 20 years ago, and he had Kong Kong as showpiece.

It is "economists" like Greenspan i despise, he wasn't an economist, just a superego with a massive ambition to be idolized, and did all he could to please the Power Dogs, to keep his hold on power.
Marc Faber, who rarely ever denounces anyone, specifically denounced Greenspan as a CRIMINAL PERSONALITY without an ounce of Moral Integrity.
Also Russell attack Greenspan savagely after he read Greenspan's autobiography.
From a past post i made. <<Russell--- also is an erudite and gentile man----and he blasted Greenspan, called him an egomaniacal pipsqueak that has led the U.S. into a dangerous trap.>>

Faber has not denounced Bernanke as criminal, but has called him to be dangerously incompetent. FWIW--just yada, yada.Max
