Why aren't you clamoring for single payer auto insurance for example?
===

Not a bad idea. In Hawaii over 25% of drivers have no insurance and another huge chunk carry the minimum. Seeing it is mandatory here, i find it amazing that cops can stop for DUI, seat belt, etc. but never catch anyone w/o insurance....

you might want to look into the facts a bit as you clearly know nothing other than to spout off some libertarian clap trap

Re: Why aren't you clamoring for single payer auto insurance

If you could buy a new body (just move your brain over, I suppose) you'd have a valid metaphor, but that's not the case.

The problem with health insurance is the idiots who demand that $500,000 be spent torturing mom or dad for those couple of extra weeks.

People don't do that for their cars, they buy a new one - but you can't buy a new mom or dad.

The economic demand for car insurance has a rational basis, the nature of the demand for health insurance is not.

That's why single payer for health insurance is not the same as single payer for car insurance.

"Canada has cut insurance overhead to 1 percent of premiums - one-twentieth of Aetna's overhead - and eliminated mounds of expensive paperwork for doctors and hospitals. In fact, while cutting insurance overhead could save us $131 billion annually, our insurers waste much more than that because of the useless paperwork they inflict on doctors and hospitals."
