>> Bush inherited surpluses bigger than the sky:

Actually, a small surplus in comparison with the deficits of today. Keeping it in perspective, Obama's first deficit will wipe out Clinton's final year surplus in a little over a month.

So, while I didn't approve of Bush's deficits, it really was justifiable as it was necessary in the economic recovery from 9/11 -- as well as the expense necessary to insure there were no further attacks.

Obama's deficits are systemic. They will continue to balloon for decades to come. Bush's were a necessary response to 9/11. There is a huge difference.

Still, Bush could have done more. He could have refused to deal with Kennedy on the education bill; he could have refused to support the farm legislation; he could have NOT gotten us into Medicare D. Any number of things.

But they're all trivial in comparison to Obama's socialist agenda which assures that America will never recover from his presidency.

The United States, by 2019, will be so impoverished by the deficits that it would not meet the criteria for admission into the EU. Think about that. The so-called world economic power, blackballed because it is broke.

You people just need to come to grips with the fact that your president is destroying the country. You can keep trying to blame Bush from now on, but the reality is that Obama's deficits -- even in the rosy scenarios we've seen thus far, destroy any prospect for America to return to being an economic power.
