You may be right about the public hiding.

I offer this simple observation to clearly demonstrate how clueless many people in the markets are:

GM stock is up today.

How could anyone POSSIBLY think what is happening at Chrysler is positive for GM stock? It's clearly good for Ford, but GM? the stock was going to be diluted to 1% ownership in the best circumstances. Now it will be worth even less than 1%.
