Putin and Medvedev seem lke sociopaths to me and have becoem incressingly dangerous the last decae as they consolidtated their power into a dictatorship , so they remain very dangerous. They are threats and are personally ruthless, but they also seem rational. What do we do if China invades Taiwan? I don't know. What do you say we do? Deterring them from doing this is a reason to continue to stay strong. Appearing weak will encourage aggression. They'll think they can get away with it. Pakistan is really danggerous as you say. Iran does not have the missle capacity to threaten us. Yet. They are working on their missile capacity. Furthermore they do have the ability to threaten our forces in the ME region. Between Israel, Japan and us, our anti missle systems would take care of anything they could mount; Would those be the missile defense system Obama promised to scrap? americanthinker.com and If they tried we would destroy the entire country. We should try to do something to avoid having to commit genocide. Europe has more to fear from Iran and Iraq. The are in missle distance. So I have always felt, let them spend their military and money. Why us? We are doing Europes fighting for them using our military and money which is dumb of us IMO. Perhaps. But we are committed to the defense of NATO and have been since Truman's day.
