I actually looked into that a few years ago. But the route they were selling was 60 miles from the distribution hub so it required 120 miles of driving every day with no return on the investment. With the terms they were offering it wasn't worth the investment.

The deal could be really lucrative in a big city and of course that is the example they use in trying to sell the deal.

I have an uncle who was a Navy Seal and a UD (underwater demolitionist). He had numerous tours of duty in Vietnam. After he retired from the Navy, he started a Heating & Air Conditioning business. Between his business and his Navy pension he did quite well. He's in his seventies now.
