It absolutely is -- particularly with government payers.

For example, for a group practice to enroll in Medicare they submit a form 855B -- which is 48 pages long. Then, for each individual provider in the group practice, they submit a form 855I -- 29 pages each. That is to get enrolled.

Then, once that enrollment is complete, you must submit additional forms for EDI enrollment -- first for the group, then for the individual. If you want ERAs, you have to submit paperwork for that. State medicaids, depending on the state, have processes that as laborious.

It is pretty insane.
