To: damainman who wrote (199903 ) 5/3/2009 5:51:40 PM From: Skeeter Bug Respond to of 306849 >>Do you believe that people will do what's good for themselves rather than what gives them harm/pleasure if only that knowledge was made available?<< i believe that people have no idea what a good diet is and what it can do for them - and that is a total failure in the current health care system. nobody makes billions pitching lean meats, fruits, veggies, m-fats, long chain omega 3s and minimizing omega 6s. no money = not a priority. in fact, the drug companies make more money the sicker the population. some are even pushing statins for children. how many people know that diet alone can reasonably... 1. make excess fat loss easy 2. control hunger 3. eliminate allergy problems 4. reduce the affects of sickness 85% 5. improve your cardio capability 6. improve your ability to generate muscle if you work out 7. reduce your risk of diabetes 83% 8. significantly reduce your risk of heart disease 9. give you more energy than you had as a 20 year old 10. make you feel better than you did as a 20 year old all those things have been true for me and many other people. all this in spite of nerve damage side lining me for over 2 decades. lots of people would still choose th epro-inflammatory, hormonal roller coaster they are on today. however, it doesn't help that most doctors recommend a hormonal nightmare of a diet onto their patients. the data is out there and it is clear - the harvard doctors researched it and changed their dietary recommendations BASED ON DATA. the high carb, low fat diet doesn't have supporting data. in fact, it is dangerous to your long term health, as well as your figure. it also drives hunger - which is why so many diets fail. the other reasons diets fail is they stimulate cortisol - which is a brutal hormone when it is over produced longer term. this is why atkins is a poor diet - at least the initial phase, which is where so many get stuck and never leave.
