Like most everything else, there are degrees of torture. And there are degrees of success.

My question to you is what would you do after you asked KSM nicely to cooperate and he refused?

It is astonishing to me that any American would NOT respond by escalating the discomfort. Repeatedly. Until he was near death if necessary.

You mean Waterboarding on a scale from 1-10? Why not?

For sure better than the Asian Water 'Cure', which used a scale similar to (earthquake) Richter: Scale starts at 1, no limits to the top.
