Probably true but have you any idea of the forms you have to fill in and B/S you go through when you have weapons aboard? And if you don't declare them you risk losing your weapons and your liberty too. So much for the carefree life of a sailor.

Things have changed a lot in the last 10 years. In some ports you have to turn them over to "the authorities" and try to get them back when you leave. Pirates might be easier to deal with:-}
