America opened this can of worms and there's no telling what Iraq will look like in 2010 or 2011. Will US troops stand aside if Sunnis and Shiites resume genocidal campaigns against each other? Hopefully Obama's efforts to involve Iran will lead to the Iranians helping to stabilize Iraq by limiting arms exports and increasing other trade and economic activity in the region - a war next door can't be in Iran's interest. Renewed efforts against extremists elsewhere in the region (Afghanistan) might also reduce their ability to stir the pot in Iraq...
