Petrobras denies plan to import US corn ethanol to supply the Brazilian market. Domestic ethanol supply has been unable to meet growing demand due to crop failure and to heavy rains in the main sugar cane planting areas. As a result of low supply ethanol prices have risen on the domestic market. In order to reduce demand for ethanol, as of February 1 the obligatory ethanol admixture to gasoline will be reduced to 20% from 25% for a 90-day period. istockanalyst.com
