BGuy, the point here is to make money. The company Zitel is not the same as the stock ZITL. I believe that Zitel (the company) will be bankrupt in 2001, but that doesn't mean that I think that ZITL (the stock) will head in a straight line to zero. The market is inefficient, which is how any of us can beat it occasionally. Buy-and-hold isn't the world's best shorting strategy, even with little ZITL.

Having said that, boy am I sorry that I closed my ZITL short at 17 7/8!

God, I am glad I'm short a ton of AOL. And God save me from my long position in IOM!

John

Is it my imagination, or did ZITL show some support this afternoon at 15 1/2?

[ Who Will Buy Your Shares? ]

One of the primary bullish arguments has been the short interest in ZITL. Personally, I think this is a weak argument, but it has been often repeated here and elsewhere. I was going to wait until 2001 before covering, but decided to cover a bit early. Many of the other shorts have covered most or all of their short.

Now that the shorts have covered, who will buy your shares?
