Vip, I did not invest that year. But, according to accounts, there was a rally the following day. It took 3 months for stocks to go back to their levels before the crash. It was the Bargain of them all for those who bought at the lows!...

the bear market lasted 3.3 months and recovery took 19.7 months.
Loss was 33.5%.

The -19.9% bear in 1990 lasted 2.9 months and recovery took 4.3 months.
