Back in 87 the down was 2000+. A similar 500 point drop would be approx. 2000 points on the Dow today--thats TWO THOUSAND POINTS--it was scarry today but believe me, it was nothing like 87--ahhh the good old days. Try to imagine what that would be like. Or, try to imagine several months to a year of continuous drops.
