Art, re: WCDMA growth.

WCDMA handset sales are at a relatively low level at only ~ 20%% of the 1.2Billon last year, and forecast at over 700M in five years (22% CAGR).

On top of this is QCOM’s new incremental revenue streams (royalty & chip sales) from the many diversified converged devices just beginning to hit the markets now and being dreamed of for future sales.

Re: WCDMA in China- yes, Ericsson’s Olsson is excited –with these recent quotes>>>

Buoyed by the inauguration of the 3G services in China, the number of mobile subscriptions expanded at a rate of 10 million a month in the first two months of this year, said Olsson (president of the Greater China area for Ericsson) , who also indicated the mobile subscription in the 3G segment alone is likely to grow over 100% a year over the next few years.

Meanwhile, the number of mobile users in China reached 750 million at the end of 2008, Olsson noted.
