The inflation/deflation debate continues... All the prophets qualify their predictions with "might" "may" "if" "could". What kind of a prediction is that?

Which bookies are taking bets on "Might win, if..." LOL?

Here's the contradiction: they say monetary policy has created a disaster. They also say monetary policy won't make any difference.

So which is it?

Does monetary policy matter or not? Will it make a difference? If it matters now, it matters later.

They can't have it both ways! I love reading these guys; they're suckin' and blowin' at the same time.

Nobody knows for sure. People who are sure don't say "might", "may", "could" and "maybe".

In the first paragraph:

According to Spain’s national statistics
institute, the rate of unemployment in Spain rose 3.45% to 17.4% in the
first quarter of 2009! The number of unemployed increased by 1.8 million
to 4.01 million people, the highest in 10 years.

Wouldn't a jump from 2.21 Million people to 4.01 Million people be a rise of 81.4%? If 1.8 Million more people are on the dole, how can unemployment have risen only 3.45%?

Maybe its just the late hour....
