Next to unnoticed in the Obama budget which just cleared the House were calls for a 21 Billion increase to 534 Billion in US defense spending for 2010. That is 6.7 Billion more than the Bush administration had projected. The fact that the Obama administration is increasing military spending is simply being ignored. But that shows that in spite of his different persona, Obama is an even bigger Hawk than his predecessor, President Bush. It was expected that defense spending would increase this year......and then start to decline in following years. That will happen or there will be many unhappy people in his party and the country.
