Common sense has not been of much use my entire investing career. The people who've become richest have done so by egregiously ripping off somebody, from the Internet mania schemes (go public and get out, claiming eyeballs are all that matters), sucking down obscene income from all sources while running a company either into the ground, or onto Indian ground, to sending toxic securities downstream while collecting outrageous fees, knowing all the while that the endgame will harm billions.
