Are you kidding me? Rush was making an observation. He's not the reason why some people think Obama can create miracles.

It was political positioning. The opposition sees a guy with a lot of charisma and they try to negate it by mocking it. Rush is always taking characteristics and blowing them out of all proportion... both sides do it but Rush does it for a living.

But the Messiah thing... that hits close to home and some people are gonna say "what if he is(!!!) I'm not taking any chances".

There are other things that are backfiring on Rush, though, such as the whole "I hope Obama fails" schtick.

Yeah, pretty hard to make a grateful exit from that, especially when you spent 8 years saying "the Dems are invested in failure" over and over.
