The problem with these short squeezes is that GS has singlehandedly recreated the condition that Paulson et al. created with the short-sale ban. Sell - to whom? There won't be anybody for GS to sell to. It's like a bunch of people at a party that ends at 2AM, and with the last, and only, taxi leaving at 2AM. Nobody worries about leaving before 2AM; everyone is convinced *they* will be in that last taxi. But it is a mathematical impossibility.
