Ah... to have a time machine and go back and bet about $1,000 on such an outcome as a 100-1 reverse split of GM stock.

10000-1 odds would be nice, but one would have to go way, way, way back, say to July of 2008 to make such a bet.

But why not go for broke: 1,000,000,000,000 to 1 odds in early 2000. You could pay off all world debt with the winnings (assuming it's insured by AIG and the US taxpayers get stuck with the bill). I guess you couldn't pay off the US debt, but that's a small price to pay for such a happy outcome.
