Jlallen, > My point is and was that the dems are just as obstructive as the Repubs when they are not the party in power.

Self-deluded liberals like CJ confuse poll-driven politics with "bipartisanship."

It's the very reason why liberals think the Dems were oh-so-bipartisan when they went along with Bush to Iraq. Invading Iraq was the popular thing to do back in 2003.

"What nonsense. To suggest that the Dems were compliant is simply absurd."

Only to the reality challenged.

"My point is and was that the dems are just as obstructive as the Repubs when they are not the party in power. "

That might be your point. It doesn't change the fact it is a lie. The Democrats were never as obstructive as the Republicans are now. For example, some Republicans have announced that they will block Obama's appointment to Souter's seat because the appointee is too liberal despite the fact that Obama hasn't made an appointment yet. The Democrats never did that. Nothing, will the notable exception of the stimulus package, gets through the Senate unless it is a Republican created bill. That has been true since 2006. The Republicans have set records for bills killed due to filibusters.
