Hedge Funds Outraged At Obama Bullying But Also Cowering In Fear

First the CIA, then the investment community, and now the executives of large international corporations, are seeing a side of the Obama administration that they didn't expect, but should have.

It's Chicago Rules, baby.

Seriously, we should be grateful that Obama is being so obvious. I had expected more subtlety from him. A skilled operator would not have expressed contempt for contract law so early in his administration, nor gone straight to hardball tactics and personal demonization. A skilled operator would have made a better show of being fair to all sides and promising an actual profitable company down the road.

Simple conclusion: Obama is not a skilled operator. He's a skilled talker. There is a difference. Sometimes you need one set of skills, sometimes the other.

Also, I don't think Obama is nearly as bright as he is cracked up to be. If he were, he would be more pragmatic now. Instead, he has drunk his own Kool-Aid.
