Even if Specter becomes a slave to Harry Reid for the next 18-19 months, he may still not regain his lost seniority. If he dies or retires, Pennsylvania has a Democratic Gov. that will appoint his replacement.
What Specter may also soon learn is that he may face a primary challenge in the Pennsylvania Democratic primary. Perhaps no free ride for that old man without any core beliefs beyond self.

Gee, they've treated him so honorably. A class outfit. Specter has sure ruined himself. Next election he'll be gone.

And no sitting politician will switch to the Democratic party again for a generation.

Both Specter and the national Democratic party have shown what they're made of.

Wonder if Specter will knuckle under and obediently vote Democratic for the next two years, or be so pissed that he will vote with the Republicans?

He will vote whatever his tea leaves tell him regarding his best chance to stay in the Senate.

He is a total sellout and an "old fart" who should be gardening in the morning and snoozing in the afternoon.
