I do think it would be good for the court and the country to have an openly gay supreme court justice (assuming he or she were well qualified). But more than that, i think it would be a laugh riot to watch Republicans react to the situation. For me, that would be the best part. I certainly don't demand or require such an appointment. Even a white straight man would be okay with me, though i don't think there's a chance in hell that will happen. SD
